Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort
A few minutes by boat from the islands of Sipadan and Mabul lays the exhilarating Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort sitting on its sturdy stilts on the shallow sandbanks of the Ligitan Reefs. Planned and built in full style as an airy, comfortable, sunny water village with no land in sight, it boasts a mile-long sandbank of powdery white sand where one can suntan at complete leisure while gazing out to the miles of brilliant turquoise stretching into the horizon offering the purest image of natural serenity.
Getting there
After arriving at the Tawau airport, you’ll be brought to the small town of Semporna, where you may have to stay a night in the little town depending on your time of arrival into Sabah. The next step would be to get onboard a short speedboat transfer to the beautiful island of Kapalai.
Accomodation
The Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort is a charming wooden water village built on stilts with 41 individual water chalets, all with private balconies and en-suite bathrooms. The room has fan cooling, a great sea view, beachfront balcony with chairs. The en-suite bathrooms all come with private hot water shower and bath complete with towels and toiletries.
Meals
The Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort offers great food where meals are served in the terraced, open central structure by the water. Fresh food is cooked by chef on buffet style and afternoon snacks are served after the 3rd dive. Tea & coffee, cold water and cordial is also served throughout the day.
Facilities
Facilities available at the resort includes a dive centre which provides diving and snorkeling, and kayaking gears and equipment are available for rental. There is also a souvenir shop, game room and available internet access.
Diving
There would be 3 boat dives per day at Sipadan depending on the weather. Once back at the resorts, there are unlimited shore dives in Kapalai. Tanks and weights are provided. Dive package sample itinerary
