Borneo Divers Mabul Island Resort


Mabul Island is a small 20 hectares oval shaped island, ringed with sandy beaches and perched on the northwest corner of a larger 200 hectare reef. Lying 15 km to the north of Sipadan Island, only 15 minutes away by boat, the reef is on the edge of the continental shelf and the seabed surrounding the reef slopes out to 25m-30m deep.

Highlights include the legendary Hawksbill Turtle, Giant Turtle, Manta Ray, Blue-ringed Octopus and Flamboyant Cuttlefish.

 

Getting to Mabul Island

Mabul is a 40 minute speedboat ride from the port of Semporna. Borneo Divers will provide a return transfer from Tawau Airport to Semporna and Mabul. There are frequent short flights to Tawau from Kota Kinabalu

Accomodation with Borneo Divers Mabul Island Resort

Borneo Divers Mabul Resort is comprised of 30 units of semi-detached rooms, each with twin beds and private verandah overlooking the Celebes Seas. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with private hot/cold showers, bathroom, and a dressing table.

Meals at Borneo Divers Mabul Island Resort

There are all kinds of varities of food to eat or drink from Chinese, International, Japanese and Korean cuisine with buffet style dining. A good selection of vegetarian dishes are available with advance notice. Coffee, tea, juice & water on the house all day long.

Facilities at Borneo Divers Mabul Island Resort

Resort facilities include a large dining room and a meeting room with a capacity of about 100 guests. There are also lounges, a beachfront Sunset Bar, recreational &sport facilities, and even a professional underwater video and film service center with E-6 processing.

Scuba Diving in Mabul Island, Sipadan

There will be three daily boat dives to Sipadan (weather permitting) with unlimited shore dives once you’re back on Mabul. Tanks and weights provided.

Itinerary

  • Day 1

    • - Arrive at Tawau Airport via AK5154. Land transfer to Semporna Hotel for one night stay.
    - Check in Semporna Hotel. Free &Easy for the rest of the day.

  • Day 2

    • 0700hrs Breakfast at Semporna Hotel.
    0830hrs Check out. Prepare for sea transfer to Mabul Borneo Divers Resort.
    1000hrs Depart from Jetty.
    1100hrs Check in Mabul Borneo Divers Resort. Prepare for up to 2 dives. 3rd dive is possible depending on the schedule.
    - Lunch and Dinner at Resort.

  • Day 3 to 4

    • - 3 boat dives per day at Sipadan Island, Mabul Island, Kapalai Island, Si Amil Island or Mantabuan Island.
    - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at Resort.

  • Day 5

    • 0700hrs Breakfast.
    - Up to 2 boat dives if schedule permits.
    1330hrs Check out from Resort. Boat transfer to Semporna.
    1430hrs Land transfer to Tawau Hotel.
    1600hrs Check in and free & easy for the rest of the day.

  • Day 6

    • - Check out from Tawau Hotel (Breakfast excluded from package).
    - Take cab to Tawau Airport (~MYR45, excluded from package).
    - Depart for KL via AK5153.
